A Very Vegan Easter

Aloha Vegan friends..and a Happy Easter to you!

Archi presenting me with an egg hahaha
My Easter this year started off slow and lonely, sat in bed watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch  missing my family, thinking of last year when I was flying around Harry Potter world drinking butter beer with my daddykins.

So yep, I didn't have high expectations, I had a little pitty party then remembered that Archi (my cat) had bought me an Easter Egg from asda yesterday!!..As if she went to all that effort and just knew that chocolate would cheer me!! haha
I would have inserted more up close pictures of the egg, but It seems to have disappeared..no idea where!!! All I can see is that asda freefrom Easter eggs are epic..and very moreish!

So after a whole series of Sabrina, my vegan Chummy Linn Boo invited me around and cooked me a nut-roast, all home made, completely tasty and made with pure vegan love (and insane effort with only one working shoulder atm!!) Without the Huddersfield Vegans, my beloved group, we would never have met, so if I have anything to thank veganism for (I have soo much to thank veganism for!!!) making fiends..FAMILY is one of them!
Me and the Mighty Boo, soo happy to have a vegan roast, epic chatter and wine!
THE Roast <3
So the above plate of beautiful food contained;

  • Homemade Nut roast, with chestnuts in..super yummmmmy
  • Leeks
  • Beans
  • Carrots cooked in maple syrup
  • Gravy
  • Roast Potatoes
  • and flipping sweet potatoes

OM TO THE NOM NOM

Overall, a beautiful meal, with an awesome friend, totally made my Easter!!...Yay for vegan food, yay for vegan friends!!

Hope you all celebrated with cruelty free chocolate and a cruelty free roast, with people you care about!!

Thanks for reading

Happy New Year...Happy Birthday blog.....Happy VEGANUARYYYY

Aloha Vegans

HAPPY NEW YEAR...AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG <3 <3

Yes Im impressed, but im still here, like a year on and still so in love with Vegan life and everything the community has to offer :) Ive made the best friends through my Huddersfield Vegan group and been involved in some AMAZING stuff.
So i shall start the blog  off with some pictures of Hudd Vegan xmas party which was just lovely, we had food, we had drinkies and gifts were exchanged...wooo

Was bloody lovely, im so proud and honoured to be involved with a group of lovely people <3

I also met santa on another night out..just thought id add this cos it made me giggle :)

The MOST important and best part of christmas for me, is spending time with my family. I love living in yorkshire, but i do miss that crazy bunch, even when I go home to visit, I dont get to see them all, so having my family in one room is the best gift of all.

This year Fraz, my brother in law cooked me dinner :)..well everyone, but he made me a lush vegan dinner..i had a nut roast and it was AMAZING

Vegan christmas dinnerrrr

My family are also slightly bonkers, we recorded our own christmas song, it was bad...but the most fun!!!

Ive also enjoyed throwing myself into the world of Harry this holiday season, as i write this im halfway through book 5!!! woo..Santa bought me so booja booja, the perfect book companion!!!!

I spent NYE drinking vegan wine with some of my Huddersfield Family...I looked like this:

I woke up for brunch on January the first and made the mother of all meals....
I think this is my favourite meal....OM NOM NOM

So that brings us to now, January 3rd 2016 :) and we are in Veganuary!!! Last year I posted daily on here what i was eating, this year I'm filming it and will make a video round up once a week, so keep your eyes open for that. Tomorrow I start my new job and this exciting new chapter...

Oh here is my 2015 round up video... <3 <3 <3

Winterfest Leeds!!

Aloha Vegans  ♡♡

Thought I would do a cheeky little post on Winterfest in Leeds!

Having been booted off our train we tried to make the
most of the queues for the bus
Winterfest is an awesome vegan festival that had over 150 stalls, talks and cookery demos in the city's town hall. Me and some of the Huddersfield Vegan crew volunteered our time to help the event run smoothly!
Our sheer joy at getting 4 seats together!!
The day started with a million..bazillion train issues that saw us manage to obtain a seat on a rail replacement bus!

It was a nightmare but we got to leeds in the end.
Childrens activity area
I was volunteering for the first 3 hours and did some door watching and  2 hours in the children's activity area, making Christmas cards and decorating vegan cookies!..yay..was so fun and I met some ace people!

After my volunteering shift finished I got to go and explore all the yummy food stalls and check out the offerings of the festival
There was a lot there and it was ace to see the place so super busy.
For my late lunch I had mock duck and noodles. It was delicious!

Volunteering and LOVING it
I then went and chatted with a few vegan folk and found some of my hudd vegan chums and we explored the stall and ate wayyyy to many things. My highlight being vegan churros and hot chocolate sauce!

I mainly purchased cake this time..so my 11 o clock herbal tea time will be epic this week!!

After the fair we popped to the German market which was super Christmassy but it was awful to see meat and non vegan things everywhere. The magic is lost when you see through all the pretty lights and notice that this event has caused a lot of suffering and harm to our animal Friends.

We then went and waited in a 40 minute queue for a rail replacement coach. We met nice people and I rick rolled and sang happy birthday to a random guy.

All the cake..and some chocolate..NOM
Overall it was great to volunteer at a festival and I felt that it enhanced the experience, I'll deffo be offering up my services to more vegan festivals in the future! There was a good variety of stalls and lots of great good to try. I look forward to the summer event in leeds next year! I think this particular festival was ace because I saw so many friends. I love this community so much and I love days like this that show me that the revolution is happening. I am not the only vegan and together we are a kind, compassionate and caring community!

being a carrot
40 mins in the longest queue...never been happier to see a coach!
Heavenly!!

One happy fat vegan with all the churros

German Market

Mock duck and noodles and winterfest fun

Thank you again for all the love and for reading :)
